Published: March 12, 2025

Teesside, UK – OptiMe, a leading workplace wellbeing Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform and app supporting employees across the full spectrum of wellbeing, has secured a combined six-figure investment from two Northeast backers, NEL Fund Managers and Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA).  The funding comes as part of The Forge Accelerator programme, which supports high-growth companies based in Teesside.

OptiMe’s platform currently serves prominent clients including Domino’s, Costa, Wilton Universal Group, Recovery Connections, and Newcastle College Group. The fresh investment will enable the company to further personalise its platform’s wellbeing content, introduce AI-driven coaching features, and expand its team by creating 10 new jobs.

Award-winning wellbeing entrepreneur Bethany Ainsley, founder of OptiMe and North East-based Nuvo Wellbeing as well as author of Don’t Burn Out, Stand Out, expressed her gratitude for the regional support:

“We are incredibly grateful for the combined investment from NEL Fund Managers and the Tees Valley Combined Authority. This backing will help us enhance our services and accelerate growth, making our workplace wellbeing solutions more accessible to organisations of all sizes. Our goal is to support every employee’s wellbeing through personalised, innovative methods that truly transform workplace culture.”

Speaking on behalf of NEL Fund Managers, Susan Snowdon said:

We believe this investment will not only propel OptiMe’s expansion but also bring tangible benefits to businesses throughout the region and beyond.”

Imran Anwar, CEO Alt Labs and Programme Director at Tees Valley Labs added:

“We are delighted to have supported Optime through the Forge accelerator programme. It is inspiring to see HealthTech businesses in the region being supported through the programme, and with the mentorship and funding they have received, we look forward to witnessing their continued growth and success.”

By combining expert wellbeing content, personalised support and reporting, and cutting-edge AI features, OptiMe aims to set a new standard for holistic workplace wellbeing. With this fresh capital injection, the company is well-positioned to scale up and deliver meaningful impact across diverse industries.
